The opening theme “Bajando al 7° (Intenso)” is the one that somehow gives the album its name. It is a composition with a high level of both melodic and rhythmic intensity, with a constant “up-tempo” in the format of a sax trio, drums and double bass. It features a 17-bar main melody and then a very rhythmic unison between double bass and sax, where the drums move at times off the supports and sometimes in unison. The saxophone improvisation presents two schemes, one free on an altered chord and the other with a “walking” on the original harmony of the head-in. This improvisation gradually disappears, giving way to the double bass who, through the melody, gives the signal for the head-out.

El tema de apertura “Bajando al 7° (Intenso)” es el que de alguna manera le da nombre al disco. Es una composición con alto nivel de intensidad tanto melódica como rítmica, con un “up-tempo” constante en formato de trío saxo, batería y contrabajo. Presenta una melodía principal de 17 compases y luego un unísono muy rítmico entre el contrabajo y el saxo, donde la batería se mueve por momentos afuera de los apoyos y a veces en forma unísona. La improvisación del saxo presenta dos esquemas, uno libre sobre un acorde alterado y el otro con un “walking” sobre la armonía original del ”head-in”. Esta improvisación va desapareciendo dándole lugar al contrabajo quien por medio de la melodía da la seña para el “head-out”.
